A specialist company will check the structural stability of all six municipal cemeteries on October 8th
The annual inspection of gravestones in the cemeteries of Seeheim-Jugenheim will take place on Thursday, October 8, 2026. A specialist company commissioned by the municipality will check the stability of the gravestones using a specially developed measuring device.
According to the local council, regular inspections are required due to current accident prevention regulations. The gravestones are being checked in a total of six cemeteries.
The inspection of the gravestones begins at 8 a.m
The checks will begin at 8 a.m. at the Seeheim Forest Cemetery. This will be followed by the Old Cemetery in Seeheim at approximately 8:40 a.m. and the cemetery in Balkhausen at approximately 9:20 a.m.
The inspection of the cemetery in Jugenheim is scheduled for approximately 9:40 a.m. This will be followed by the cemetery in Malchen at approximately 11:00 a.m. and the cemetery in Ober-Beerbach at approximately 11:30 a.m.
If defects are found during the inspection of the gravestones , the municipality informs the holders of the rights to the respective grave plots. They are requested to rectify the identified defects.

Old Cemetery Seeheim: around 8:40 a.m.
Balkhausen Cemetery: around 9:20 a.m.
Jugenheim Cemetery: around 9:40 a.m.
Malchen Cemetery: around 11 a.m.
Ober-Beerbach Cemetery: around 11:30 a.m.
