New extinguishing group vehicle for disaster protection
The Griesheim volunteer fire brigade has been reinforced: a new fire-fighting vehicle for disaster protection (LF-Kats). Provided by the federal government, it is now available for use. The modern fire engine is equipped for fire fighting and small technical assistance.
The vehicle will be used for registration images of forest and vegetation fire fighting, the local extinguishing aid and for space. "The vehicle is a very good addition," says Sven Schwreek, city fire inspector of the city of Griesheim, "and enables us to be able to work even more effectively. The fire truck will play an important role, especially for larger operations, for forest fires and surfaces. In addition, the vehicle brings the advantage that we, as a fire brigade, are also integrated into the operational events. ”
As part of the vehicles procured by the Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Aid, for equipment in the field of civil and disaster protection, the vehicles allocated to the district of Dieburg were stationed at the Griesheim fire department. The federal government, responsible for civil protection, provides the federal states with vehicles for disaster protection. The countries in turn distribute over the counties to the municipalities.
The vehicle is designed for a group crew (9 emergency services) and enables the implementation of extensive fire fighting and operations of the minor technical assistance. To ensure sufficient extinguishing water supply, the vehicle has a built -in fire -fighting water tank with 1,000 liters of capacity and also a folding container that can absorb 5,000 liters of water. In addition to the fire extinguisher pump built into the vehicle, the LF-Kats also has a portable pump. The latter can either be used at a water withdrawal point or used as an amplifier pump in a water conveyor route. In order to be able to reach remote areas of equipment, the vehicle has all -wheel drive and a 600 meter long hose line. Respiratory protection devices and various tools complete the range of equipment.
Due to the technical equipment and loading for water promotion, the vehicle supplements the water conveyor consisting of a changer vehicle and a rolling tank hose, which is mapped by the Griesheim fire brigade for the Darmstadt-Dieburg district. After the Griesheim emergency services have been broken down into the vehicle and the devices, the vehicle will be placed in the emergency service before Christmas.
