Natural History Collection opens its storage facilities
The Hessian State Museum Darmstadt invites you to a special behind-the-scenes tour of its Natural History Collection on Wednesday, August 26 , at 6 p.m. Under the title "The Hidden Treasures of Natural History," participants will gain insights into areas not normally open to the public.
During the guided tour, visitors learn how natural history collections are established, documented, preserved, and managed. The tour also demonstrates the importance of these collections for research, education, and the preservation of natural heritage.
Rare collection pieces and insights into museum work
The tour will be led by Prof. Dr. Torsten Wappler and Dr. Dominik Hennhöfer. They will present selected exhibits and explain the work behind the scenes of a natural history museum. Rare and particularly delicate collection pieces will provide fascinating insights into the diversity of nature and the scientific work of the museum.
The number of participants is limited to 25 people .

Location: Hessian State Museum Darmstadt
Admission: 8 euros, concessions 5 euros, plus 4 euros guided tour fee in each case.
Tickets: Available on the day of the event at the museum ticket office or in the online shop.
