The district town launches a cooperation with EasyPark – more comfort for drivers
Drivers in Groß-Gerau city center can now pay their parking fees digitally via smartphone EasyPark , an international provider of digital parking management services, since the beginning of June 2025
The new service makes parking more convenient and flexible. Instead of going to the machine, you can easily purchase, extend, or end your parking ticket via the app – without having to return to your vehicle. The EasyPark app is available free of charge in all major app stores. All you need is a smartphone with a saved payment method.
“With digital parking, we are creating real added value for everyone who is out and about in our city center – whether for shopping, errands or visiting restaurants and events,” explains Mayor Jörg Rüddenklau .
License plate verification – no printout required
After parking, users select their location in the app – via GPS or using a parking zone code from signs or machines. Monitoring is digital: Field staff scan the license plate and see in their monitoring app whether a valid parking session has been recorded. A printout behind the windshield is no longer necessary.
EasyPark charges a small usage fee in addition to the regular parking fee. Alternatively, a monthly flat rate be booked. The city parking fees themselves remain unchanged.
Parking zones and times at a glance
Digital parking is available in the following areas:
- Darmstadt Street
- Frankfurter Straße
- Marketplace
Times subject to charges:
- Monday to Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m
- Sundays & public holidays : free of charge
The first half hour is always free of charge , but must be documented by starting a digital parking session or taking a parking ticket. After that, a fee of €1.00 is charged for every additional 30 minutes or part thereof maximum parking time of 120 minutes applies in the zones mentioned .
The traditional parking ticket machines will remain in operation and offer an analog alternative.
