Preparatory work for the IGEL3 project is expected to take two to three weeks
In preparation for the planned construction work as part of the IGEL3 project, exploratory excavations will begin on Tuesday, July 7th, along tram line 3. The work will take place during the rail replacement service and is intended to provide important information about the location of existing underground utilities.
During exploratory excavations, the road surface is opened up at specific points, covering small areas of just a few square meters. This allows utility lines to be precisely located and measured. The results are used to prepare the subsequent construction processes as reliably and efficiently as possible.
According to current plans, the work will take approximately two to three weeks. Several intersections along the route will be affected
- Kiesstraße / Karlstraße
- Bessunger Straße / Jahnstraße
- Ludwigshöhstraße / Am Kuh Schwanzeck
- Ludwigshöhstrasse / Weinbergstrasse
Temporary full closures at two intersections
The intersections of Bessunger Straße/Jahnstraße and Ludwigshöhstraße/Weinbergstraße will be completely closed for several days during the construction work. Detours will be signposted.
The exact dates for the closures will be announced in a separate announcement in due course.
The preliminary investigations are intended to reduce possible delays during the actual construction work and to precisely plan the further steps of the IGEL3 project.
