"Kompreno" offers journalistic content from several European countries
As the city of Darmstadt, a center of science and research, announces, the city library is expanding its digital offerings with the "kompreno" platform. This will give users access to journalistic content from various European countries and in several languages.
The service includes selected articles from newspapers and magazines in German, English, French, Spanish, and Italian. All that is required to use it is a valid library card from the Darmstadt City Library.
Multilingual reading and international perspectives
City Councillor Holger Klötzner, Head of Department for Education and Digital Affairs, sees added value in the new offer for different target groups.
“Kompreno is a new, diverse journalistic service offered by the Darmstadt City Library. Darmstadt residents can use all the website's content free of charge with their library card,” explains Klötzner.
The platform is particularly interesting for people who read in multiple languages, are learning a language, or are looking for German-language texts with international content.
Personalized recommendations and listening function
In "kompreno," users can search specifically for topics or individual articles. The platform also offers personalized recommendations and the option to create their own reading lists.
All content is available in both text and audio formats. The service is also ad-free.
Further information and instructions for use can be found on the website of the Darmstadt City Library.
