Young people from Griesheim travel to France during the summer holidays
According to the press office of the city of Griesheim, there are still places available for the youth exchange with the French twin town Bar-le-Duc.
The meeting will take place during the summer holidays from July 3rd to 9th, 2026 and is themed “Shaping the future – our world of tomorrow”.
International meeting for young people
Young people from Griesheim aged 12 to 17 can participate. The aim of the program is to promote international friendships and strengthen exchanges between the twin towns.
The participation fee is €100 and includes travel, meals, and all program activities. Registration is online via Feripro Griesheim.
A mandatory preparatory meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 8, 2026, at 5 p.m. in the Blue Box.
Program in France and Griesheim
The trip begins on July 3rd with the group travel to Bar-le-Duc. There, the young people can expect a varied program with nature-based activities, farm visits, and joint excursions.
On Monday, the group will travel on to Griesheim. A visit to the Verdun Memorial is planned along the way. There, the young people will gain an age-appropriate insight into Franco-German history and the importance of peace and understanding.
The participants spend the remaining days in Griesheim and the surrounding area with further joint activities.
Understanding and exchange are the focus
In addition to leisure activities and shared experiences, the focus of the youth exchange is primarily on intercultural exchange. The aim is to break down language barriers and gain new perspectives.
