Looking back on an active year and setting the course for the future
Under the motto "Naturally Heartfelt and Active," the Nauheim Rural Women's Association held its annual general meeting last Friday at the "Schnitzel AG" restaurant. Around 40 members came together to look back on an eventful 2024, discuss current developments, and initiate preliminary discussions for the 2026 board elections.
Looking back on a vibrant year for the club
Chairwoman Anne Dammel gave a positive assessment in her annual report. Numerous events, lectures, group activities, and club trips characterized the past year. The lecture on fall prevention with physiotherapist Dominik Konjik was a particular highlight – it was the best-attended event of the club year.

The popular hikes at the beginning and end of the year were also very popular, attracting up to 64 participants. Festivals such as the Easter Bunny Festival and the village fair coffee gathering underscored the vibrant club life – supported by many dedicated volunteers who contributed to the success with cakes, organization, and hard work.
Voluntary commitment and reliable financial management
In addition to eleven board meetings, board members also participated in supra-regional meetings at the district and state levels. Chairwoman Anne Dammel was honored by Vice Chairwoman Gabi Bender in a ceremony celebrating her 50 years of membership in the association.
In further reports, group leaders provided information about the diverse activities:
- Homepage and Internet: Linda Ramge
- Cookbook mail order: Renate Kunkel
- Creative group: Ute Mroczek
- Running group & cycling group: Gabi Bender
- Rural Women's Choir: Marita May
- Maintenance of herb garden & memorial site: Brigitte Rösing and Gisela Hein
Treasurer Alexandra Igerst and trip manager Monika Schmidt presented a sound financial report. The accounts were confirmed by auditor Anita Schildge, and the board was unanimously discharged. Michaela Reinheimer was newly elected as an auditor and will join Schildge in auditing the accounts starting in 2025.
Transparent communication: A look at the 2026 board election
A key topic was the upcoming board election in 2026. The chairwoman presented the responsibilities of the various board positions transparently in a kind of "job profile." The aim was to inform potential candidates early on and encourage them to get involved.
The open communication generated great interest and led to a constructive exchange about the future of the club.
Focus on growth and community
Linda Ramge reported a positive development in membership: 20 new women joined the club in 2024, and twelve more members have already been accepted for 2025.
The association sees itself as a community of doers, networkers, and creators. In addition to its vibrant club life, the rural women are committed to supporting social projects and other associations in the region, both ideologically and financially.
Thanks and outlook
In closing, Anne Dammel expressed her heartfelt thanks to all members: "Our success is only possible through cooperation, through energy and enthusiasm. Success has three letters: DO," she quoted Goethe.
