The senior citizens' office invites you to an astronomy lecture at the Georg-August-Zinn-Haus on Tuesday, June 2nd.
The event starts at 6 p.m. The speaker for the evening is Harald Horneff from the Darmstadt Public Observatory.
Journey from the solar system to the edge of the universe
Under the title "Journey through the Universe - From the Solar System to the Edge of the World", the lecture guides the listener through the history and structure of the cosmos.
The starting point is the solar system. From there, the arc spans approximately 45 billion light-years and almost 14 billion years of cosmic evolution.
The lecture will cover topics including galaxies, galaxy clusters, and the large-scale structures of the universe.
Mysteries and dangers of space
Besides the beauty of the cosmos, it also deals with dangers and as yet unsolved scientific questions.
The lecture deals with fascinating phenomena in space and the question of whether the universe can ever be fully observed or understood.
