Free offer from the Senior Citizens' Office on November 6th at the Town Hall
How can seriously ill and dying people be supported in their final stage of life? A "Last Aid" course on Friday, November 6th, at 3 p.m. in the Griesheim Town Hall will provide fundamental knowledge on this topic. The event will take place in Meeting Room C, accessible via the Schillerstraße entrance.
Christine Müller and Susanne Wassmer from the Malteser Hospice Center in Darmstadt are leading the approximately three-and-a-half-hour course. They will demonstrate how family members, friends, or neighbors can provide support at the end of life. The goal is to gain more confidence in dealing with dying, death, and saying goodbye.
Last aid course with practical suggestions
The focus is on four key areas: dying as a part of life, planning ahead and making decisions, alleviating suffering, and saying goodbye. Participants learn how to provide dignified support in everyday life.
It also involves small gestures, attentive listening, and personal attention. The course aims to encourage participants to approach dying people and support them in their final stage of life.
