The "Shop Local" is entering its next phase in Groß-Gerau. From September 11th to October 10th, 2026, shops, cafes, and restaurants in the district capital will once again participate in the campaign. Customers can collect points at participating businesses and win attractive prizes.
Groß-Gerau is participating in "Shop Local" for the seventh time. The campaign is jointly organized by the town of Groß-Gerau and the Groß-Gerau Business Association 1865 in conjunction with the Darmstadt Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK).
The campaign aims to raise awareness of local retailers and restaurants. By shopping locally or using local restaurants, you support the diversity of goods, services, and dining options and contribute to vibrant city centers.
Four weeks of "shop local"
“We want to show what Groß-Gerau has to offer – and that’s a lot,” explain Jörg Leinekugel, chairman of the business association, and Thorsten Eisenhofer, Groß-Gerau’s economic development officer.
This year's promotion runs for four weeks, from September 11th to October 10th. Points can be collected at all participating shops, cafes, and restaurants during this period. Participating businesses, prizes to be won, and further details about the promotion will be announced in the coming weeks.
