Movement, encounter and public relations for more understanding and openness in dealing with mental illnesses
Almost ten million people in Germany are affected by depression - and despite growing attention, there are still prejudices and stigmatization in many places. This is exactly where the Mut-Tour in: since 2012 it has brought people together with and without depression experience to travel through Germany together-on tandems, on foot or with horse care. The tour combines movement and community with public dialogue and makes self -help visible.
The Mut-Tour 2025 starts on Saturday, May 24th in Bochum and ends in Rostock after around 4,100 kilometers and 3.5 months on Saturday, September 6th . A total of around 75 people take part in 15 stage teams - accompanied by around 400 other passengers and fellow hikers with publicly accessible actions.
Annual motto 2025: Self -help in motion
With the motto "Self-help in motion", the Mut tour is focusing on the importance of activity, initiative and exchange. The stage teams encourage themselves - themselves and others. The focus is on exercise, talk, laughter and personal growth. In many cities, information stands, readings, music events and hands -on activities also take place in cooperation with local organizations.
