A traffic accident and a vegetation fire require emergency services within a few hours
The Nauheim volunteer fire department started the new week with several call-outs within just a few hours. In addition to a traffic accident, the emergency crews also responded to a vegetation fire in Bischofsheim.
In the morning, the fire department and rescue service were initially alerted to a parked vehicle leaking small amounts of fluids. Since the vehicle posed no significant danger, according to the fire department, no intervention was necessary.
Shortly afterward, the next call came in: near the cemetery, a car had crashed into a traffic island for reasons that are still unclear. The impact deployed all the airbags, and the vehicle automatically made an eCall emergency call.
According to their own statement, the fire department's command unit arrived at the scene of the accident approximately two minutes after being alerted. The driver received initial medical treatment until the ambulance service arrived and was then handed over to the paramedics. Initial findings indicate that only the vehicle sustained damage.
While this operation was still underway, the emergency fire brigade, staffed jointly with the Trebur fire department, was alerted to a vegetation fire in Bischofsheim. There, the Nauheim firefighters assisted with firefighting efforts in one section of the operation. Other firefighters, on behalf of the incident commander, took over the management of a staging area at the neighboring Media Markt for arriving reinforcements.
All operations were completed around 3 pm.
