The popular market will take place on Ascension Day, featuring regional products and environmental information
The town of Riedstadt, associated with Büchner, invites you to the 33rd Riedstadt Eco Market on Thursday, May 29th. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Richthofenplatz in Erfelden – located directly next to the Martin-Roth Bridge and the entrance to the Kühkopf nature reserve – will be transformed into a marketplace focused on environmentally conscious shopping, sustainable products, and regional specialties.
The market offers a wide range of products, from cooking oils, honey, soaps, and wooden kitchen tools to garden perennials and herbs. Numerous information booths on environmental and climate protection, energy conservation, and regional initiatives accompany the market. Culinary delights abound as well: bread, dishes, wine, and beer from the region invite visitors to linger under the old plane trees.
The supporting program begins at 11 a.m. with a morning get-together and live music by the group Trish & Mo(re) – featuring classics from the singer-songwriter era as well as songs from the 70s and 80s. At 2:30 p.m., Micha Messermann will perform a comedy routine. From 11 a.m. onwards, "Time Out Bus" available for children and teenagers, offering games and sports activities.
For the first time, the market will be complemented by an accessible composting toilet – a chemical-free, odor-neutral, and water-saving alternative. It is provided by Kompotoi in cooperation with EAD Darmstadt. Information material is available on site.
A visit to the market can be ideally combined with a trip to the Kühkopf-Knoblochsaue nature reserve.
