A new lecture series for young families begins on June 3rd
The city of Darmstadt, in cooperation with Darmstadt's children's hospitals, midwives, and pediatricians in private practice, is launching a new information series for families. The "Parents' Café for Children's Health" begins on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at the Family Center in City Hall III on Frankfurter Straße.
Monthly lectures on important health topics
In the future, the event will take place on the first Wednesday of each month. The focus will be on topics particularly relevant to new parents – such as first aid for babies, stocking a home medicine cabinet, and questions about vaccinations.
The content is presented by experts from children's hospitals, doctors' offices, and the family center. The goal is to provide parents with sound information and guidance for everyday life with children.
Low-threshold offer without registration
The presentations last approximately 45 to 60 minutes and include time for questions. Registration is not required. A small play area is available for babies up to nine months old.
Afterwards, families can continue to use the services of the family center and exchange ideas with each other.
Prevention and exchange are the focus
According to the city, the parents' café aims to strengthen families' health literacy and provide an opportunity for networking. The topics were compiled based on frequently asked questions from parents.
Further information about the program will be published online at the end of May.
