An open kick-off meeting provides information about funding and participation
With a new "Partnership for Democracy," the City of Darmstadt and the Protestant Deanery of Darmstadt aim to strengthen cooperation between the municipality, politicians, civil society, and engaged citizens. An open kick-off meeting will take place on Monday, August 17, 2026, at the Open House on Rheinstraße.
The project launched this year and is scheduled to run until the end of 2032. The partnership is funded by the federal program "Democracy Live!". This program allows associations, organizations, and institutions to apply for financial support for projects promoting liberal democracy.
Information meeting for associations, initiatives and volunteers
To kick things off, the project partners invite all interested parties to Das Offene Haus, Rheinstraße 31, on August 17th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The invitation is especially extended to associations, organizations, initiatives and institutions, as well as committed individuals and people who want to promote democracy, diversity and social cohesion.
The meeting will introduce the structure and working methods of the new Partnership for Democracy. Participants will also learn about the conditions under which projects can receive financial support.
The venue is accessible at ground level.
Funding applications are possible until September 15th
Following the kick-off meeting, funding applications within the framework of the Partnership for Democracy can be submitted to the lead office of the City of Darmstadt until September 15, 2026.
The partnership aims to create a close long-term link between the city, politics and civil society, and to support people in actively promoting democracy and social cohesion.
