A lecture at Haus Waldeck offers tips against fraud and shock calls
The Griesheim Senior Citizens' Office, together with Haus Waldeck, invites senior citizens to a safety presentation on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. The event begins at 3:30 p.m. in the pavilion of Haus Waldeck.
Protection against fraud and trick theft
The focus is on typical scams that specifically target older people. These include pickpocketing, doorstep fraud, and so-called shock calls.
“Scammers often target groups of people who are supposedly more susceptible to their tricks,” explains Stefanie Ondruch from the city's senior citizens' office. The aim of the presentation is to inform senior citizens about the dangers and give them concrete tips on how to proceed.
Police offer practical advice
Chief Detective Tobias Scholle from the advisory center of the South Hesse Police Headquarters provides information on how people can protect themselves from crime and what should be considered in everyday life.
Following the presentation, there will be an opportunity to ask questions and talk to the speaker.
