Volunteers will be helping with broken appliances, bicycles and clothing on October 10th – 3D printing and food sharing will also be included
The Eberstadt Repair Café will open for the 43rd time on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 2 pm to 5 pm . Volunteer repairers will be on hand at the Darmstadt workshop, located at Grenzallee 4-6, to help people fix broken items.
The selection ranges from vacuum cleaners and printers to clothing, small furniture, and bicycles. Tools and materials are available on-site for various repairs. The aim is to reuse items whenever possible and thus avoid waste.
3D printing and food sharing
will once again include a presentation on 3D printing technology . Foodsharing Darmstadt eV will also be participating, providing information about its work.
During the Repair Café, cake, coffee, tea, and mineral water will also be offered. The organizers see the event not only as providing practical help with repairs but also as an opportunity for people from Eberstadt to meet and socialize.
The Repair Café is a collaboration between the Eberstadt Senior Citizens' Network, the City of Darmstadt, Werkhof Darmstadt eV with the Nala project, and the Caritas Center Eberstadt South. Donations to support the service are welcome.
More volunteers needed
The Repair Café is looking for more volunteer repairers and helpers for future events.
