20 participants discover the history of the metropolis on the Main during a guided tour – excursion as part of the funding project “Experience Home”
The Erfelden rural women's association explored Frankfurt's newly redesigned Old Town during a joint excursion. On September 12, 2026, 20 participants from Riedstadt traveled to the metropolis on the Main River to learn more about the history and redesign of the historic city center under the motto "Old Town Reloaded".
During a two-hour guided tour with A. Ruhe, the group explored Frankfurt's eventful history. Among reconstructed half-timbered houses, historic alleyways, and modern architecture, the participants gained insights into the development of the old town and its reconstruction.
Hessian specialties to finish
After the tour, the women from the rural women's association returned to Mrs. Rauscher's ship. They enjoyed regional and typical Hessian specialties, bringing the day to a pleasant close and sharing their impressions of the city tour.
In addition to providing information about Frankfurt's history, the trip also focused on the shared experience.
Excursion made possible through funding project
The trip was supported by the Hessian Rural Women's Association and the State of Hesse as part of the "Experience Home" funding project.
The aim of the project is to strengthen the connection with one's own region and to bring the history, culture and traditions of Hesse closer.
For the rural women of Erfelden, the excursion thus offered the opportunity to learn about a part of Hessian history and at the same time to cultivate the community within the association.
