The path leads through forests, past imposing buildings such as the historic Bismarck Tower and the Ludwigsturm. A special highlight is the Mathildenhöhe , the center of Art Nouveau. If you take your time, you will discover fascinating natural monuments and cozy places to linger on the way.
Tip: Hofgut Oberfeld is worthwhile right at the beginning of the hike . There are fresh organic products, a small resting and the opportunity to stock up on regional provisions. Shortly afterwards, the path leads the Vivarium Darmstadt , which was only our weekend tip - a worthwhile stop to admire exotic animals.
At the latest at the Goethe-Teich or on the Ludwigshöhe , where the Bessunger Ludwigshöhe attracts with a wonderful view to Frankfurt, you should take a break. If you want, you can fortify yourself here and enjoy the view into the Palatinate.
A perfect end in nature
After the last hill, the Prinzenberg , the path leads back towards the city through orchards. A special bonus: The end of the hike leads to a bird sanctuary in which numerous birds can be observed.
