Hessian championships and numerous podium finishes for TuS athletes
The Griesheim Short Track Triathlon attracted numerous young athletes to Griesheim on May 10, 2026. The event marked an early highlight of the season and also served as the venue for the Hessian Championships for juniors and youth categories up to Schüler C (U14).
The new season promises excitement
In addition to the open sprint and amateur races, races for the senior and masters leagues were also on the program. The new FourFriends Mixed Team Relay was also held for the first time.
The relay format was based on the Olympic mixed relay mode: Each participant completed a short triathlon before handing off to the next team member.
Great support from helpers
Around 90 volunteers ensured the smooth running of the parallel races. They were also supported by students from the GHS school, who worked as course marshals or helped with setting up and taking down the equipment.
Several Hessian championship titles for the youth
The competition was particularly successful for the young athletes of TuS Griesheim Triathlon.
In the junior class, Magnus Kraft and Niklas Gimmler took first and second place. Niklas Gimmler became Hessian champion.
Julius Nothnagel also impressed in the Youth A category: Despite a serious cycling fall, he won the Hessian championship title and achieved the fastest running time of his race.
Numerous other podium finishes
Other strong results included:
- Laetitia Sophie Aring takes third place in the youth category
- Juli Strobel as Hessian champion in the girls A category
- Celia Pereda Lostau won the title in the girls' B category
- Carlos Pereda Lostau took third place in the C category for students
Overall, the team achieved four Hessian championship titles and eight podium finishes.
Praise for the coaching team
The successes are also attributed to the continuous work of the coaching team around Michael Vogt, Maria-Luise Lenhardt and Leonie and Daniel Schmoll, who provide intensive support to the young athletes.
