Around 10,000 books invite visitors to read in the forum at the town hall
The new Seeheim-Jugenheim media center in the Forum am Rathaus has opened. Even shortly before the official opening last Saturday, numerous visitors were waiting in front of the building to see the new facilities for the first time. Around 100 guests attended the opening.
New meeting place for book lovers of all ages
The library offers around 10,000 books for children, teenagers, and adults. White bookshelves of varying heights, along with comfortable seating areas, sofas, and a reading nook for children, create a modern atmosphere for browsing and reading.
For children and young people, in addition to non-fiction and fiction, TipToi books and Tonies are also available. For adults, the focus is primarily on fiction. The selection is complemented by non-fiction books with a regional focus, travel literature, and works on the Holocaust.
In addition, users can also borrow e-books via the so-called online lending service.
The mayor sees the media center as an asset for the community
At the opening ceremony, Birgit Kannegießer emphasized the importance of the new facility for the community. Alexander Budjahn, head of the public library service, also highlighted how the media center fills the forum with life and knowledge.
The former libraries in the historic town halls have now been combined into a single new location.
