Over 40 clubs invite you to join the Herrngarten on June 29th
On Sunday, June 29, 2025, the Herrngarten becomes a large movement arena again: from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. the 47th sports and game festival take place- organized by the sports office of the science city of Darmstadt, the sports district of Darmstadt-Dieburg and Merck as the main sponsor. Over 40 clubs and institutions offer a colorful hands -on program that is aimed at people of all ages - free of charge and inclusive .
The official greeting by Mayor Hanno Benz , sports district chairman Rafael Reißer and Maxi Nieber (Merck) takes place on stage in the Herrngarten 1 p.m.
"The festival stands for openness, diversity and community," emphasizes OB Benz. "Sport connects - regardless of origin, age or experience. My thanks go to all committed people who make this festival possible." Rafael Reißer adds: "The sports and game festival has been an integral part of the sports city of Darmstadt for 47 years- a shop window for the width and quality of our club system."
Diverse program - from fencing to quidditch
From fencing, baseball, karate and bike ball to pickleball, Roundnet and Quidditch - the festival offers numerous sports to try out. Children, adolescents and adults can approach stations for self -defense, table tennis, athletics and many other disciplines.
Among other things, a wheelchair course , showdown table tennis visually impaired and a summer biathlon with laser rifles , which is also suitable for wheelchair rides.
Water slide, sensory garden and family program
A highlight 2025 is the XXL water slide from Merck , which ensures a sparkling refreshment. Making children strong initiative is also represented and sets impulses for self -confidence and teamwork. The family center and youth welfare office shape the popular sensory garden .
The day is rounded off by a varied stage program with dance and sports performances by local groups as well as hands-on activities for families, including the bouncy castle, craft area, can throwing, children's circus and much more. Entega water fountain in the Herrngarten provides free refreshment
