NABU campaign starts on July 15th
With the "Plant Standard Fruit Trees" campaign , the German Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU), the Darmstadt-Dieburg district, and the city of Darmstadt are once again committed to preserving traditional orchards. Landowners and tenants can order standard fruit trees at discounted prices from July 15th to September 15th
Contribution to the preservation of the cultural landscape
For many decades, standard fruit trees shaped the landscape of the region and continue to provide valuable habitats for numerous animal and plant species. Since their numbers have declined sharply in recent years, this joint planting campaign aims to promote the preservation and establishment of traditional orchards.
A total of 600 fruit trees available. The price is 35 euros per tree and includes a planting stake and protection against browsing animals.
Order online only
Orders can only be placed via the webshop of the NABU Darmstadt district association.
