Temporary city garden creates consumption -free space until the end of October
On behalf of the science city of Darmstadt, a new temporary summer garden on Ernst-Ludwigs-Platz . The area of around 120 square meters along the Kaufhoffiliale was designed colorful by the artist Leonardo Wassermann and equipped with 20 seating furniture , 10 planters and 10 folding tables .
The “Darmstadt Summer Garden” linger, take a deep breath and conform to the end of October - without compulsory consumption.

The aim of the project is to make the area around the former Kaufhof more attractive and to make lively and more accessible Darmstadt Marketing GmbH takes care of the summer garden , while an external service provider is responsible maintaining the plants
The project is financed by a funding program to strengthen the city center . After the end of the project, the mobile elements - including the trees - used in other places in the urban area .
From the end of 2025, a permanent redesign of Ernst-Ludwigs-Platz planned.
