SV Darmstadt 98 wins first friendly match against SG Arheilgen 12-0
SV Darmstadt 98 kicked off their pre-season preparations with a resounding victory. The Lilies cruised to a 12-0 (4-0) win against Darmstadt's regional league side SG Arheilgen in sweltering summer temperatures, showcasing their scoring prowess in their very first friendly match.
As expected, head coach Florian Kohfeldt's team took control from the start and took an early lead. Despite conceding the early goal, SG Arheilgen put in a committed performance in front of their home crowd, fighting for every ball and impressing with their high work rate.
After the break, Kohfeldt made almost a complete change to the starting lineup, bringing on nine new players. The newly formed team quickly found its rhythm and scored numerous goals to secure a decisive victory.
The hosts had hoped beforehand to keep the score as low as possible, but the offensively minded Lilies consistently used their opportunities and gained confidence for the upcoming tasks in their first pre-season appearance.
The goals for SV Darmstadt 98 were scored by Duijvestijn (11th), Klefisch (15th), Furukawa (32nd), Lakenmacher (43rd), Dreskovic (47th), Corredor (51st/63rd/82nd), Kehl (66th/77th), Merx (72nd) and El Kadiri (88th/penalty).
