New regulation facilitates access to the taxi ranks on Grafenstraße
Starting next week, taxi drivers will be allowed to drive on the forecourt of the former town hall on Grafenstraße. The Mobility and Civil Engineering Office of the Science City of Darmstadt will install an additional sign reading "Taxi Free."
"A taxi company alerted me that such a measure would significantly facilitate access to the taxi ranks on the opposite side of Grafenstraße for taxis coming from Elisabethenstraße or the pedestrian zone. This small change will provide more convenience and better accessibility to the taxi ranks there," explains Paul Georg Wandrey .
Exit from the forecourt onto Grafenstraße is still only permitted in the direction of travel along the one-way street.
