New regulations make it easier to access the taxi stands on Grafenstrasse
Starting next week, taxi drivers will be allowed to drive in front of the former town hall on Grafenstraße. The Mobility and Civil Engineering Office of the City of Darmstadt will install an additional sign reading "Taxi permitted".
“A taxi company pointed out to me that such a measure would significantly facilitate access to the taxi ranks on the opposite side of Grafenstraße for taxis coming from Elisabethenstraße or the pedestrian zone. This small change ensures greater comfort and better accessibility to the taxi ranks there,” explains Head of Transport Paul Georg Wandrey .
Exiting from the forecourt onto Grafenstraße is still only permitted in the direction of travel of the one-way street .
