Author from Groß-Gerau presents exciting debut novel about family, guilt and dark secrets
The literary initiative in the Darmstadt Association of Kulturstäuken e. V. invites you on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 7 p.m. for the next reading in the series of literature scene in South Hesse . In the gallery of the Rosengarten restaurant, the author Oliver Baier from his debut thriller "Frankfurt Beats" (Mainbook Verlag 2025).
At the center of the novel is Milan, who is lost in Frankfurt's club scene - while fleeing from the past and the memory of his twin brother Leo, whose death was never explained. When a strange woman suddenly appears who imagines his mother, his life finally gets out of the track. She claims to be in a fatal danger. But with their arrival, dark family secrets come to light that Milan tears into a whirlpool out of guilt, violence and betrayal.
"Frankfurt Beats" is a thriller about the destructive power of unresolved past, tells with pace and psychological depth.
Oliver Baier, born in 1974, lives with his family in Groß-Gerau and works as a physiotherapist. He has published short stories since 2018, has been awarded multiple awards - among other things with the Stockstadt Literature Prize - and is a member of the syndicate and in the Federal Association of Young Authors . He describes Frankfurt as the most exciting city in Germany - which is why his debut is also located there.
