During a tour, young people learn about the tasks of the municipality
The town of Riedstadt, associated with Büchner, welcomed its new trainees and young professionals with a city rally. Mayor Marcus Kretschmann first greeted the young people in the town hall's council chamber before they were introduced to various municipal facilities and departments.
Among the new trainees are Linus Bär, who is completing a dual study program in environmental engineering at the municipal utilities, and Yaren Cakirer, who has begun a dual study program for a Bachelor of Public Administration at the city administration. Sarah Laksy and Larina Morgenstern are completing their vocational school internships in the areas of public safety and order and daycare, respectively.
The city rally leads through various specialist areas
Together with the training managers Julia Galley and Nadja Pfitzner, as well as the women's and equal opportunities officer Jennifer Muth, the young recruits started a city rally after an introductory round.
In randomly drawn teams of two, participants visited different departments of the administration and various city facilities, depending on the specific tasks assigned. Stops included the city police station, wastewater treatment plant, sports field, swimming pool, youth center, Büchner House, and the volunteer fire department. This approach aimed to familiarize participants with the diverse responsibilities of the municipality.

Afterwards, the teams reconvened at the town hall and presented their results. A discussion with Mayor Marcus Kretschmann, the training managers, and the women's and equal opportunities officer, as well as a team game and a shared pizza lunch, provided an opportunity for the teams to get to know each other better.
Merle Houf and Melek Dernek, both of whom are completing a practice-integrated paid training (PIVA) in a daycare center, as well as Tim Erfurth, trainee at the municipal utilities, also participated in the welcome afternoon.
Other young professionals from the town of Büchner are completing a voluntary social year, vocational internships, vocational school internships, or a practice-oriented training program to become a childcare worker.
