- Keep important documents readily accessible , e.g. in the glove compartment instead of the trunk.
Burglary protection for motorhomes and caravans
The police recommend a multi-stage security concept to prevent burglaries and thefts:
Mechanical safety devices
- Steering wheel and pedal locks
- Wheel clamps
- Drawbar locks (for caravans)
- Reinforced door and window locks
Electronic systems
- Alarm system
- GPS tracker for location tracking
- Electronic immobilizer
- Motion detectors and cameras at the parking space
General tips
- Do not leave valuables lying around in plain sight
- Secure the safe inside the vehicle
- Use only guarded or secure parking spaces
- Avoid choosing isolated places to spend the night
- Applying markings or engravings to valuables
Safety begins at home
"The journey to your holiday destination should be relaxing – but also safe. Good preparation is crucial," say the police. The free holiday check on May 30th offers the ideal opportunity for this.
