Adventure weeks for primary school children in Riedstadt full of creativity and community
Riedstadt-Leeheim – In the Heinrich-Bonn-Halle, cutting, playing and crafting are taking place: This summer's holiday activities in the Büchner town of Riedstadt are themed "Adventure Journeys" – and around 60 primary school children from Leeheim and Erfelden recently went on a journey into fantastic worlds.
The Leeheim youth center was buzzing with activity. Using colorful paper, paint, and plenty of imagination, the children cut out mythical creatures like elves, dragons, and sun dragons , and painted and crafted under the guidance of their supervisors, Naomi and Francis. "Look, this is my sun dragon!" little Liara proudly announced. Her playmate Lea, on the other hand, was completely absorbed in writing a secret letter for the holiday program mail – with the clear instruction: "Don't look!"
Creative program and excursions
The children in Leeheim are being cared for by youth worker Julia Spitzer and a dedicated team. At the same time, around 70 children from Goddelau, Crumstadt, and Wolfskehlen are participating in a parallel program led by Kai Faßnacht .
In Leeheim, the activities centered around the Heinrich-Bonn-Halle. Besides the creative craft program, there were also excursions – for example, to the swimming pool or the poultry breeding club , and even a visit to the Kühkopf peninsula workshop day was particularly popular , where children from different groups could sign up for various activities – from creative projects to exciting field trips.
“The children have a lot of fun in the workshops, but they are also always happy to return to their familiar groups,” said Spitzer.
And so, at the end of the day, the “green group” and their self-designed mythical creatures, such as elves and dragons, embarked on a very special fantasy journey – filled with laughter, creativity and a sense of community.
