Around 250 guests enjoy the new event format in the Verneuil-sur-Seine square
Weiterstadt's first after-work market got off to a successful start. Despite midsummer temperatures of nearly 40 degrees Celsius, around 250 visitors came to the Verneuil-sur-Seine square on Thursday, June 25th, to enjoy a relaxed evening.
With a diverse selection of wine, beer, bratwurst, pizza, and gourmet foods, the new market offered an opportunity to enjoy food, conversation, and socialize. The successful launch, according to the city, demonstrates that the new event format is well-received by the residents of Weiterstadt.
Mayor Niklas Gehnich was also delighted with the large turnout: "The fact that so many guests came to the market in these temperatures shows that the people of Weiterstadt appreciate such events. A little bit of dolce vita in Weiterstadt – it's wonderful that it's been so well received."
Next after-work market in August
Following the successful premiere, the city is already inviting everyone to the next after-work market. This will take place again on Thursday, August 13, 2026, in the Place Verneuil-sur-Seine.
Clubs and associations from Weiterstadt can also participate in the after-work market in the future, for example with culinary offerings or other activities. Interested clubs and associations can contact the city of Weiterstadt by email at stadt@weiterstadt.de or by phone at +49 6150 400-1005
