New online service eliminates the need to visit the town hall after a move
Anyone moving to Bickenbach or relocating within the municipality can now register their new residence entirely online. With this new digital service, the municipality expands its range of citizen services and eliminates the need for a visit to the authorities in many cases.
According to the Federal Registration Act, a new residence must be registered within 14 days . With electronic residence registration, this can now be done conveniently from home or on the go. Deregistration at the previous address is not required.
“With electronic residence registration, we are making another important administrative service digitally accessible. Citizens can complete their registration regardless of opening hours and save themselves a trip to the town hall,” says Mayor Markus Hennemann.
Families can also use the service
The online service is not only available to individuals. Families can also register together, provided they are already linked in the residents' registration office and are moving together.
To use the service, you will need a national identity card or an eID card with activated online identification function, your personal PIN, and a smartphone with the AusweisApp or a suitable card reader. Tenants must also have a digital landlord confirmation of residence available.
Digital registration confirmation and new address stickers
After successful verification, users automatically receive a notification by email. A digital registration confirmation with an electronic seal is then available for download. The address details on the identity card or eID card can also be updated online. The new address sticker for the identity card is automatically sent to the new address by the Federal Printing Office.
The online service can be accessed via the nationwide portal for electronic residence registration. The citizens' office of the municipality of Bickenbach can provide further assistance with any questions.
