Exchange with State Parliament President Wallmann and women's policy spokespersons from all parliamentary groups
At the initiative of Jennifer Muth, the women's and equal opportunities officer for Riedstadt, twelve women from Riedstadt participated in a seminar entitled " Women in the State Parliament " at the Hessian State Parliament in Wiesbaden. The aim was to gain insight into political work and the role of women in parliament. The seminar was organized by the Office for Civic Engagement for Women ("Office f") in cooperation with the State Parliament .

In the plenary hall, the participants first observed a state parliament debate on climate protection . They showed interest not only in the content but also irritation at the sometimes harsh tone among the members of parliament. The subsequent discussion with State Parliament President Astrid Wallmann , as it touched upon, among other things, the newly introduced catalog of fines for derogatory remarks . Wallmann emphasized how regrettable it was that such a catalog had become necessary at all.
After a shared lunch in the state parliament canteen, the women from Riedstadt met with the women's policy spokespersons from all parliamentary groups . The discussions covered topics such as reconciling family and politics , personal motivations for political engagement, and strategic approaches to increasing the proportion of women in political bodies . There was agreement across party lines on issues such as strengthening women's health .
"The women enjoyed the day. They had impressive experiences and an exciting exchange with political figures. The harsh tone in parliament gave some participants pause for thought," concluded Jennifer Muth , Women's and Equal Opportunities Officer of the city of Riedstadt.
