Event on 3 September showcases economical and climate-friendly solutions
Riedstadt. Whether thermal insulation is worthwhile for multi-family homes is a frequently discussed question. Although these buildings are more compact than single-family homes and have less exterior space relative to their volume, insulation can still result in significant energy savings. "Heat doesn't care whether it escapes through the walls of a single-family home or a multi-family home," explains Riedstadt's renovation manager, Benedikt Krick . Based on the square meter of living space, renovations in multi-family homes are often even more cost-effective, as less exterior space needs to be insulated.
The greater challenge often lies in coordination: "In buildings with multiple owners, it is often difficult to make a joint decision for sustainable renovation. That's why we specifically advise homeowners' associations," says Krick.
Practical example and cost-effectiveness comparison
At the 19th workshop discussion on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 , at 6 p.m. in Riedstadt Town Hall, concrete renovation options will be presented – including costs, savings potential, and a practical example from the Büchnerstadt district. Krick emphasizes: "Economic efficiency and climate protection go hand in hand in building renovation. We want to demonstrate this."
