Amateur teams will compete for victory on the sand on August 8th
will be flying over the net again at the Goddelau outdoor swimming pool on Saturday, August 8th. The Goddelau outdoor swimming pool's support association is hosting its traditional beach volleyball tournament for amateur teams. The focus is not only on competitive spirit, but above all on fun and a good atmosphere.
Numerous recreational teams will compete against each other on the two beach volleyball courts. The defending champions are the team "Fürst von Schmetternicht" (Prince of Butterfly-Not), who aim to repeat their success from last year. They will be challenged by teams with well-known names such as "Time to Weiz" and the "Flamongos".
Even teams not competing for the top spots don't go home empty-handed. Traditionally, there's also a competition for the "Golden Pineapple," which includes a bottle of non-alcoholic sparkling wine.
The tournament is supported by the Darmstadt-based private brewery Braustüb'l. The winning team will receive a brewery tour in Darmstadt as the main prize.
Anyone wishing to participate with a hobby team can register by email to beachvolleyball@freibad-goddelau.de until Sunday, July 19th .
