Two dates in August – registration required by the end of July
The Griesheim police station will again be offering bicycle coding at the beginning of August. The initiative aims to better protect bicycles from theft and to make it easier to return stolen bikes to their owners.
The coding will on Thursday, August 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Friday, August 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the courtyard of the police station at Wilhelm-Leuschner-Straße 65 in Griesheim.
The police point out that bicycle coding is a useful addition to theft protection. This also includes a sturdy lock, properly securing the bicycle, and, if necessary, a GPS tracker.
Advance registration is required
Participation is only possible after prior registration. Appointments will be on Wednesday, July 29th, and Thursday, July 30th, starting at 10:00 AM, by calling 06155 8385-21 .
Information about the person and the bicycle – manufacturer, type and frame number – should be available when registering.
For the coding process itself, you will need to bring a valid ID and proof of ownership for the bicycle. Owners of e-bikes and pedelecs should also have their battery key ready. Bicycles with carbon frames cannot be coded for technical reasons.
