Twenty key measures for greater climate resilience in the city
Darmstadt. on Wednesday (22nd) Integrated Climate Adaptation Plan . The measures focus on the key areas of "sponge city", "blue-green infrastructure", "nature-based solutions" and "climate-adapted construction". Citizen participation and federal funding
were implemented as part of the project participatory formats . The neighborhood-specific suggestions from the public were incorporated into the catalog of measures.
The implementation of the climate adaptation plan is supported by a funded staff position for climate adaptation management . The project is financed through the German Adaptation Strategy to Climate Change (DAS) of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) – with a funding rate of 90 percent.
