The Darmstadt-based artist will present photomontages, acrylic blocks and works on steel from September 6th to October 17th
From September 6th to October 17th, 2026, Darmstadt-based artist Verena Guther will present her exhibition "Color.Water.Light" at the Lattemann Gallery. The exhibition will feature various series of works in which Guther explores urban structures as well as water, light, vegetation, and color.
For decades, the artist has explored the multifaceted life of international metropolises. In her photomontages, she digitally combines analog structural motifs and color accents to create new image compositions. Cities thus appear as dynamic and ever-changing structures.
“Color.Water.Light” draws on impressions from Cádiz
The starting point for a recent series of works was the unique light of the Andalusian city of Cádiz. Guther combines individual photographs of tranquil places into vertical photomontages. In small-format acrylic blocks, she blends photography and painting. Water, light, and lush vegetation are central to these works.
Another group of works consists of steel panels, which Guther assembles into horizontal formats. Monochrome fields of color are structured by vertical lines. The artist uses an angle grinder to work the surface, adding graphic accents to the material.
Verena Guther's work is represented in exhibitions and collections as well as at international art fairs in Europe, the USA, Korea and Japan.
