Swimming courses for beginners and advanced swimmers will start in summer 2026
In cooperation with the association for the preservation of the Jugenheim swimming pool, the DLRG local group Pfungstadt is offering two intensive swimming courses for children in the Jugenheim swimming pool this year.
Swimming course for beginners before the summer holidays
The first intensive course is aimed at beginners. This offer is for children who already have some experience in the water, can stay afloat, and have mastered basic swimming movements.
The Jubilee Flea Market course runs until June 22, 2026, every Monday from 6 to 6:30 pm at the Jugenheim swimming pool.
In small groups, participants work on arm strokes, leg kicks, and body position in the water under expert guidance. Besides technical improvement, the focus is primarily on safety and fun in the water. The goal of the course is to achieve the Seahorse swimming badge.
Advanced course after the summer holidays
Following the summer holidays, August 18th to September 7th, 2026 an intensive course for advanced children 6 pm to 6:30 pm.
This program is aimed at children who have already earned their seahorse badge and wish to improve their technique and water safety. The goal is to obtain the bronze or silver youth swimming badge.
Discounts for members and registration
The participation fee for the intensive courses is 50 euros for non-members.
Children who become members of the DLRG Pfungstadt local group only pay the annual membership fee of 40 euros. In addition, course participants and one accompanying adult receive free admission to the swimming pool 30 minutes before the course begins on course days.
Registrations are now possible via email at: ausbildung@dlrg-pfungstadt.de
There are already only a limited number of places left for the beginner's course.
Special course planned for refugee children
The summer holidays will also be used actively. The Pfungstadt water rescue team is also planning a special swimming course for refugee children.
“We are very pleased with the great cooperation – now already in the third summer season – with the swimming pool association in Jugenheim,” explains Holger Heisel, first chairman of the DLRG.
This cooperation enables the DLRG Pfungstadt local group, together with the DLRG Darmstadt-Dieburg district, to support the currently inactive DLRG local group in Jugenheim.
