Volunteers help with broken small appliances and toys
The repair café in Crumstadt will reopen its doors on Saturday, May 30th, in the old town hall at Poppenheimer Straße 1.
From 2 pm to 5 pm, visitors can bring along defective small appliances and repair them together with volunteer helpers.
Self-help guide for electrical appliances and toys
The focus is once again on the principle of "helping people to help themselves". Under the guidance of volunteer repairers, items such as hand mixers, kitchen radios or other small electrical appliances can be repaired.
Even broken wooden toys and playground equipment can be repaired.
Support is free. Only necessary replacement parts must be paid for at cost.
No repairs of large appliances
Large appliances and fully automatic coffee machines will not be repaired.
According to the organizers, all devices brought along must be taken away again – even if a repair should not be possible.
As the service is regularly in high demand, the team asks for your understanding regarding possible waiting times.
Local history museum also open
During the Repair Café, the neighboring local history museum in Crumstadt will also be open to visitors.
Since parking is limited around the old town hall, parking is available at the rear of the building.
Volunteer helpers wanted
The team at the repair café is still looking for people interested in crafts who would like to volunteer.
