The Hessian Consumer Advice Center offers appointments on heating, solar energy and energy saving
The Hessian Consumer Advice Center offers free energy consultations for private households in Seeheim-Jugenheim once a month. The individual consultations take place on the last Thursday of each month from 2 pm to 5 pm in the Forum at the town hall.
Energy consultant Dieter Schneider provides information on topics including heating system replacement, photovoltaics, energy saving, and government funding opportunities. The consultation lasts approximately 45 minutes and is free of charge.
Places are still available for the next dates on July 30th , August 27th and September 24th
An on-site energy consultation can be arranged if required. This costs 40 euros.
Appointments can be arranged with the municipal administration at 06257 990-206 or with the consumer advice center at 0800 809 802 400

Tips for hot summer days
Consumer advice centers recommend external sun protection such as roller shutters, external blinds, or awnings to protect against summer heat. These block the sun's rays before they even reach the window and are therefore significantly more effective than curtains inside.
Good insulation of the roof and facade also helps to keep buildings cooler for longer in summer and warmer in winter. Light-colored facades and roof tiles also heat up less than dark surfaces.
Ventilation should ideally take place in the early morning or at night. During the day, windows and sunshades should remain closed as much as possible. Fans or air conditioners can provide additional cooling on particularly hot days.
Outdoors, trees, shrubs, green facades and as few sealed surfaces as possible help to lower the ambient temperature and improve the microclimate.
