Zoo Vivarium offers a diverse program during the holidays, focusing on animals, nature and photography
The Vivarium Zoo in Darmstadt invites children to a diverse holiday program during the summer holidays. The program includes workshops, exciting guided tours, and photography courses with nature photographer Reinhard Mink. The meeting point for all events is the air-conditioned zoo school.
Young animal lovers can get hands-on experience in the workshops. On July 2nd and August 5th, from 10 am to 12 pm, the focus will be on "Why Pets Are Farm Animals." On July 9th and August 6th, also from 10 am to 12 pm, children can explore the fascinating world of tiny creatures in the "Microscopy for Kids" workshop. Participation costs €9 per workshop, plus zoo admission.
The holiday tours also offer exciting insights into the animal world. They begin on June 30th with the tour "Turtles from Small to Large." On July 8th, participants will learn "How Does a Zoo Work?" The focus on July 15th is "Colors in the Animal Kingdom," before the tour "Skulls and Bones in the Animal Kingdom" on July 17th provides interesting insights into the anatomy of various animals. All tours start at 10:00 a.m. Participation costs €4.50 plus zoo admission.
A special offer is aimed at young photography enthusiasts. Nature photographer and filmmaker Reinhard Mink will be offering a photography workshop on July 1st, 8th, and 15th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., teaching participants how to professionally photograph animals or capture them in short film clips. The workshop costs €69 per person.
