RhineCleanUp and Clean Environment Day invite you to participate
The municipality of Nauheim is calling for two litter collection events this autumn. The first, the nationwide RhineCleanUp, kicks things off on Saturday, September 12, 2026. This is followed on October 24 by the traditional Clean Environment Day. Residents are invited to participate on both dates and work together to rid public spaces of litter.
“Together we can send a strong message for a clean environment and, at the same time, ensure an attractive townscape,” explains Mayor Marc Friedrich.
RhineCleanUp starts at Berliner Platz
The RhineCleanUp on September 12th takes place as part of the Groß-Gerau district's climate weeks. Participants will meet at 11 a.m. at Berliner Platz in Nauheim. From there, they will clear areas around Hegbachsee lake, the skate park, the Schwarzbach stream, and Charvieu-Chavagneux-Platz of carelessly discarded trash.
The cleanup is expected to last until 2 p.m. Sturdy footwear is recommended. Participants can bring their own gloves; gloves and grabbers will also be available for loan. Trash bags will also be provided.
For better planning, the municipality requests registration via the registration page for the RhineCleanUp in Nauheim. Spontaneous participation is also possible.
Clean Environment Day in October
A second opportunity to participate will be on Saturday, October 24th. The Clean Environment Day has a long tradition in Nauheim. Clubs, families, individuals, the children's and youth parliament, and schoolchildren all take part in the litter collection in and around Nauheim.
The meeting point is at 9 a.m. at the municipal depot at Alte Mainzer Straße 4–6. The event is scheduled to last until 12 p.m.
“Every bottle picked up, every piece of packaging collected, and every filled garbage bag makes a big difference,” says Friedrich. The community hopes for many participants on one or both of the cleanup days.
The municipality of Nauheim publishes further information on its website.
