Action day for girls aged 6 and over with games, creativity and participation
The City of Darmstadt invites Friday, June 13, 2025, from 2 pm to 6 pm to the Girls' Garden in the Herrngarten park . The event will take place at the adventure playground and is aimed at girls aged 6 and up. This is the 21st time the event has been organized by the Girls'Working Group (MAK) in cooperation with the Youth Welfare Office's Child and Youth Services.
Under this year's motto "We can achieve anything!" , the Girls' Garden offers a free program with creative, movement-oriented, and informative activities. The goal is to empower girls and create spaces for interaction and participation.
The girls'garden will be opened by Mayor Barbara Akdeniz, who emphasizes the long-standing commitment:
"For over two decades, the girls' garden has been a meeting place where girls can try things out, strengthen themselves and develop their potential. Here, empowerment means not only participation, but also active involvement – an important contribution to a fairer and more diverse urban society."
Highlights movement of the afternoon include a and craft coursethat promotes strength and dexterity, as well as activities such as:
- the mobile bicycle kitchen “Schnibbel Schlitten” by Foodsharing
- a large bouncy cushion
- the popular “Heinerinnen Quiz”*
- Glitter tattoos and other interactive activities
Furthermore, information tent the new Darmstadt Youth Parliament . This is a participatory format for which young people are encouraged to run for office in the September elections .
All activities are supervised by qualified staff from the girls'working group. Food and drinks are free, and a separate lounge area is available for accompanying adults. Registration is not required – girls can simply drop in, participate, and enjoy themselves.
