Citizens will soon be able to donate directly on site
The municipality of Nauheim will support the Groß-Gerau hospice foundation in the future with a publicly accessible donation box in the town hall.
During the opening hours of the citizens' office, citizens can leave monetary donations there for hospice work in the Groß-Gerau district.
The community shows solidarity
The donation box was placed at the central information point in the town hall. The aim is to raise awareness of the hospice foundation's work on an ongoing basis.
Mayor Marc Friedrich and Wilfried Sünner from the Groß-Gerau Hospice Support Association exchanged views at the official handover.
“We are very pleased to set a visible sign of solidarity for the valuable work of the foundation with the donation box in the town hall,” explains Mayor Friedrich.
In addition to the donation box, information material about the hospice foundation and the support association is also available.
Nauheim is participating in the construction of the new hospice
The municipality of Nauheim had previously supported the hospice foundation with a donation of €10,000. In addition, the municipality will contribute one euro per resident to the planned new hospice building in the Groß-Gerau district in 2026.
This is based on a resolution passed by the municipal council last year. Other municipalities in the district are also supporting the project.
Planned competence center for palliative care
The Groß-Gerau Hospice Foundation is planning to establish a palliative care competence center for the district. The centerpiece will be an inpatient hospice with day care and inpatient beds.
Furthermore, the foundation aims to raise public awareness of the hospice concept through lectures, counselling services and information events.
