The first job rotation at the PSD Bank Arena brings applicants and companies together
On August 20th, a new career fair at the PSD Bank Arena will bring together school pupils, students, skilled workers and career changers with companies. Organizers Britta and Andreas Noack explain why conversation alone is not enough for them.
Career fairs promise networking opportunities. But what happens when the doors close? This is precisely where Jobrotation comes in. It will take place for the first time on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the PSD Bank Arena in Frankfurt. The morning will focus on training and career entry, while the afternoon will be geared towards skilled workers, students, and career changers. An accompanying app will ensure that a first encounter leads to a clear and logical next step.
Britta, Andreas, why is the fair called Job Rotation?
Britta: Because career development rarely follows a straight line. People start in one profession, discover new strengths, change their priorities, or want to do something different after many years. Job rotation is aimed at people who are about to take their first step, as well as those who consciously want to take a new one.
What personally inspired you to choose this concept?
Britta: My own path. I started as a veterinary assistant and later switched to the financial sector, where I worked for about 25 years. I had the idea of being self-employed when I was 19, but I didn't actually put it into practice until much later. Looking back, none of these experiences were in vain. Each one gave me skills that I need today. That's why I want to encourage people to honestly examine their professional situation and not to prematurely rule out new opportunities.
Frankfurt already has career and training fairs. What would be different about yours?
Britta: We clearly separate the target groups by time. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the focus is on training and career entry. From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., the focus is on skilled workers, students, and career changers. This allows companies to prepare more effectively for the people who will be attending during each time slot.
Andreas: And we think about the contact beyond the day of the trade fair. A good conversation is just the beginning. The trade fair app helps to record contacts in a structured way and then continue them. Visitors shouldn't go home with ten flyers and wonder three days later who they actually spoke to.
What does this mean from the perspective of companies?
Andreas: You can speak more effectively with potential trainees, skilled workers, students, and career changers, and follow up on interesting contacts efficiently. For us, it's not about how many business cards are on the table at the end of the day. What matters is whether these contacts lead to applications, further discussions, or concrete agreements.
And what advantage do visitors have?
Britta: You meet several companies in one place and can find out very directly which task, which environment, and which employer might suit you. No one needs to come with a fully formed life plan. Anyone who is curious and brings questions has a good starting point.
What should someone do who is still unsure whether a visit is worthwhile?
Andreas: Come along. Especially when the next step isn't yet clear, a personal conversation can bring more clarity than hours of searching online. Admission is free. The only important thing is prior registration.
When would the first job rotation be a success for you?
Britta: When people go home with a concrete perspective that they didn't have before the fair.
Andreas: And when companies say that they haven't just had a lot of conversations, but relevant ones, then we know that the concept works.
