The educational initiative and association aim to support young people in their career choices and strengthen their future skills
Frankfurt. Career guidance shouldn't begin just before graduation. Mission Bildung 42 and the GABAL eV organization at the Jobrotation on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the BBBank Arena in Frankfurt. Together, they aim to help young people discover their own strengths and interests and gain early insights into the world of work.
Mission Bildung 42 is an educational initiative from Hesse and a project of the non-profit GABAL eV. It sees itself as a bridge between young people aged 13 and over, schools, and companies in the region. Career orientation is not to be understood as a one-time decision, but as a continuous process.

Programming, virtual reality, and real businesses
Mission Bildung 42 uses a variety of experiential and learning formats to achieve this. In the Code Hive Academy , young people develop their own video game in a cyberpunk style and gain initial programming experience.
In workshops, experts from the field come directly to the schools. Virtual reality experiences offer virtual insights into regional companies, while bus excursions give young people the opportunity to actually get to know businesses on site.
These services are complemented by the Mission Education 42 app. It is designed to provide long-term support to young people in their career orientation, facilitate contacts with companies, and offer assistance with topics such as job applications.
The aim is not simply to introduce young people to specific professions. Rather, they should be able to discover where their own interests and abilities lie and which career opportunities match them.
GABAL focuses on lifelong learning
Behind Mission Bildung 42 is GABAL eV. The non-profit association is aimed at people in different phases of life – from initial career orientation to personal and professional development to passing on their own experiences and knowledge.
Under the theme of "Strengthening Future Skills," GABAL 2026 focuses in particular on the question of what skills people need to remain effective in a changing world of work. In addition to specialist knowledge, orientation, personal exchange, and a willingness to engage in lifelong learning play an important role.
GABAL sees itself as a network in which people learn from each other, exchange experiences and support each other in their personal and professional development.

Career orientation as an ongoing process
Mission Education 42 pursues the vision that young people should not be left feeling lost when faced with the question of which career path to take. To achieve this, contacts with the world of work should begin earlier and be more strongly integrated into everyday life.
The initiative is supported by its patrons Dr. Johannes Hanisch, Mayor of Weilburg, and Monika Sommer from the Limburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
At the job rotation event, young people, parents, teachers and other interested parties can get to know Mission Bildung 42 and GABAL personally and find out about the different offers for career orientation and personal development.
