The Workers' Samaritan Federation provides information about careers, voluntary social year (FSJ) and volunteer opportunities – and also ensures medical coverage for the fair
Frankfurt. The Workers' Samaritan Federation (ASB) will be represented in a dual capacity at the Jobrotation on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the BBBank Arena in Frankfurt : As a participant, the aid organization will provide information about career prospects, volunteer opportunities, and the Voluntary Social Year (FSJ). At the same time, the ASB will provide medical services during Jobrotation , thus ensuring the event's medical safety.
The ASB is a voluntary aid organization and welfare association. It operates independently, is politically neutral, and non-denominational. Full-time staff and numerous volunteers undertake a wide range of tasks – including rescue and ambulance services as well as social services.

Work where help arrives immediately
The ASB relies on motivated full-time employees as well as volunteers to carry out its work. Full-time and volunteer staff work closely together. The aid organization offers young people in particular opportunities to gain initial experience in the social and medical fields and to take on responsibility.
The Voluntary Social Year (FSJ). At ASB Frankfurt, FSJ participants are deployed in various roles, including providing first aid at events in the stadium, the festival hall, and other venues. After appropriate training, they can also take on tasks in the ambulance service and work on emergency vehicles.
15 years of voluntary social service at the ASB in 2026
In 2026, ASB Frankfurt will celebrate 15 years of its Voluntary Social Year (FSJ) program. Young people receive comprehensive training during their voluntary service and learn about the diverse areas of activity within a modern aid organization.
In addition to gaining professional experience, teamwork and community play an important role. The FSJ (Voluntary Social Year) can also provide guidance in deciding whether later training or professional work in emergency medical services, healthcare, or social work is a suitable option.
An idea with more than 130 years of history
The roots of the Workers' Samaritan Federation (ASB) reach back to 1888. At that time, six Berlin carpenters organized first aid courses for workers so that those injured in workplace accidents could receive prompt care. This initiative evolved into today's ASB.
Providing first aid services at events has been part of the organization's responsibilities since its early years. This tradition is directly linked to the trade fair appearance during job rotation: While those interested can learn about career opportunities, voluntary social service (FSJ), and volunteering at the booth, ASB volunteers are simultaneously on duty to ensure the safety of visitors and exhibitors.
