For over 20 years, the Groß-Gerau district youth services have been inviting young researchers to the Biodiversity Day
Experiencing nature up close, observing animals, and understanding ecological connections: Numerous children participated again this year in the "Exploring the Wilderness" organized by the Groß-Gerau district youth services. This program has been offered regularly for over 20 years as part of Biodiversity Day and playfully imparts knowledge about local nature.
Accompanied by two biologists, the young participants explored the local flora and fauna. The program included excursions to observe bats and insects. Equipped with magnifying glasses, ultrasound detectors, and plenty of curiosity, the children were able to observe numerous animals up close and learn more about their way of life.
Experiencing nature and understanding the connections
In addition to the research opportunities, various nature-based educational activities provided variety. These focused on teamwork, perception, and understanding ecological relationships.
The combination of exciting discoveries, shared experiences and playful learning once again made the nature exploration weekend a special experience for the young participants.
